What’s your freedom date, the day you decide to take control of your future and not live a life dictated by a boss, a job, or an hourly wage? Mine was April 30, 1990… when after 3.5 years at age 22 I left my first and only job as a cashier in a grocery store. I learned in that short period of time that I wasn’t going to last working at a job for the next 45 years so when I was offered a buyout, I took it.

I was fortunate because my two older bothers were in Primerica and had introduced me to the business and said we can build a family empire here. I joined Full-time alongside them. I will always be grateful that my brothers introduced me to this opportunity.

It was a big learning curve; however, Primerica has a system and that if you work, it works. I have been fortunate to get mentored by top leaders in the company and I worked hard on self improvement. Today I am proud to be on the Women in Primerica Board of Directors alongside many of my mentors.

I met my husband, Mike in the business and we joined forces. We are a partnership, and he has many skills that I don’t, so we complement each other. We have full ownership of our business, which would not have happened if we both still had jobs. Instead, we are building a legacy for our family. Our son & daughter both practice the principles we teach to families and started saving when they got their first jobs, and our son has also gotten licensed with us.

We have five branch offices, a team of advisors and several thousand clients that we are proud to serve. Our team is growing and expanding, and we are excited about the future and helping them achieve their goals.

Because we have freedom of time and no one, We’ve not only been able to be there when our family has needed us, but do amazing trips with our family and friends. We get up in the morning and have coffee together, work our business, talk about our goals and dreams.

We have been able to build a business that allows us to live an amazing life on our terms and believe the best is yet to come!
